Detached license return

Similar to the detachment, there are two ways to return a license: online and offline.

Online return

When returning online, the license will be returned automatically after the end of the detached period. In GCC on the second computer, on the Detached Licenses page, it is possible to check whether the license has returned to the host computer. The status of such a license will be — Returned.

If it is necessary to return the license in advance and both computers are on the same network, then follow the steps below:

1. Open GCC on the second computer.
2. Go to the Dongles page.
3. Find the line with the required feature or product (a local key that is created at the time of detachment)
4. In this line, click the Return license to the public access icon.
5. In the Return type section, select the method for returning the license — Network.
6. Click Return license. The message "Done. The license was returned to public access" will appear.
7. Go to the Detached licenses page and check the license status. The status of the license that has returned to the host computer will be — Returned.
8. The local key will disappear, and the network key will return to its original state.

Offline return

If it is necessary to return the license in advance and the second computer is not on the organization's network, then follow the steps below:

1. On the second computer, return the license:
   - Open GCC on the second computer.
   - Go to the Dongles page.
   - Find the line with the required feature or product. (a local key that is created at the time of detachment)
   - In this line, click the Return license to the public access icon.
   - In the Return type section, select the method for returning the license - File.
   - Click Return license. The message "Done. The license was returned to public access" will appear.
   - Save the license file on the computer and send it to the host computer. You can also download this file from the Detached licenses page, the icon for downloading it is displayed in the line with the name of the product or feature.
2. On the host computer, add the detached license:
   - Open GCC on the host computer.
   - Go to the Dongles page.
   - Click the plus in the upper right corner.
   - Find the file with the license on the computer and click Open. The message "Done. The license was added" appears. 
   On the second computer, check the status of the detached license:
   - Open GCC on the second computer.
   - Go to the Detached Licenses page.
   - The line with the product or feature name should display the status — Returned.
