The purpose of network monitor GrdMon.exe is to receive information about Guardant Net dongles via network as well as GN server management. It can be started from any workstation.

When a network monitor is started, it will find all available GN servers and display received information about current parameters and the status of all Guardant Net dongles registered on the server (this information is identical to the information displayed by the server in its window).

The GrdMon.exe monitor utility supports 3 operating modes: monitoring and server administration as well as receiving a fully set up GnClient.ini file. Switching between these modes is done using the control panel located in the upper part of the monitor’s window.

The monitor’s window is split into two parts:

NameWhat is shown
Working areaServer objects in the form of a flow chart: information on the computer where dongle and server are installed as well as main data on clients (monitoring mode)
Server administration console (administration mode)
Selected object status windowDetailed information on a server object previously selected in monitoring mode

Monitoring

A flowchart structure featuring the information on the selected Guardant dongle and server parameters appears in the working area of the GrdMon.exe window in monitoring mode. This information is identical to what GrdSrv.exe server supplies in the Dongles window (c.f. the respective item).

Detailed information on any server object (dongle, LMS module, registered client) is displayed to the right, in the status window, after selecting the desired object with the mouse.

Administration

Password entry is required for switching into administration mode:

Default password is: admin

Important information

In order to change the password or to disable it you need to load the Guardant Net server as an application and execute the menu command System | Change administrator’s password and indicate the required password

Upon successful entry of the correct password, the server’s settings available for editing will appear in the working area:

See Guardant Net server settings. GrdSrv.ini file item for detailed description of settings and parameters.

New settings can be approved by pushing the [Accept changes] button and are coupled with server reload without process restart.

Important information

It is strictly not recommended to turn network protocols on or off with remote administration so as to avoid inadequate operation of the Guardant Net server!

Receiving a set up GnClient.ini file

This capability allows for automatically receiving a set up, readytowork configuration client file GnClient.ini.

Clicking the Receive file with settings hyperlink generates a file which contains the IP address as well as the host name of the computer upon which both the server and Guardant dongle are installed.

A ready-to-use client settings file needs to be placed in the same folder as the executable file of the protected network application.

Selecting a server from several available servers

The monitor displays all dongle servers available in the LAN. By default, the main monitor window displays the Guardant Net server that was found first.

If several dongle servers are found, switching between them is done using the Available servers combo box in the upper part of the monitor window:

Additionally, the Available servers combo box also serves to manually setting the IP address of the computer upon which the dongle server is running.
