The basic dongle programming operations can be executed from the command prompt. This is especially convenient when you need to separate the responsibility related to the Mask Editor and the database from the responsibility related to programming and dongle memory updates with prepared data.

It is assumed that all work related to preparing the data for the dongle will be done by the developer, and the sales person will handle the operations related to dongle service, for example.

The developer may create a GUI utility or a set of BAT files comprised of GrdUtil.exe command strings in order to increase the convenience of work and automate the programming.

GrdUtil.exe offers string commands for performing the following actions:

  • Recoding mask into dongle
  • Remote dongle update
  • Completion of the remote dongle update
  • Local dongle update

Important information

  1. The type of mask being written and the type of dongle being programmed should match for performing the operations successfully.
  2. You need to remember that the recording will be done into the first dongle of the required type detected during the operations with local dongle.
  3. All numbers sent to the command prompt must be in hexadecimal format.
