All the work related to programming a dongle is done through the Mask Editor. Using the Editor you can:
- Load the mask into the Editor from the database or file
- Edit structure and contents of the mask
- Save the current mask into a database or file
- Write data into the connected dongle
- Update the dongle using the loaded mask data
While working in the database mode the following windows are added to the Mask Editor: Database tools and Dumps, which are described in Section GrdUtil.exe Database.
The Mask Editor is organized in the form of a table, where the lines form the memory fields of (one line for each field) and columns – field parameters:
Field parameter | Description |
---|---|
Address | Field address in UAM mode |
Size | Field size in bytes |
Locks | Hardware locks set for the current memory area See Item Setting hardware locks for more details on hardware restrictions are their identification |
Type | Type of information contained by the field. Possible values: hardware algorithm, protected item, license table, integer, string, counter, dump |
Name | Any valid name of the field |
Value | Shows the contents of the field |
Field color coding
The fields have the following color coding for the convenience of use:
Color | Description |
---|---|
Yellow | Filed of general and special purpose |
Green | Free dongle’s memory |
White | Fields created by the developer |
Blue | Selected field |
Gray | Field contains remote update password |
Some types of fields may be marked by a font color: so the deactivated algorithms and protected items are shown in light-gray font.
