All new Guardant dongles starting with Guardant Sign can work without drivers installed. In order to do this, it is necessary to initially switch them into the Human Interface Device (HID) mode.

When a dongle in HID mode is connected to a USB port, the operating system detects the dongle as a standard HID compatible device and the dongle is immediately ready to function.

The operation of Guardant dongles in HID mode does not have any significant difference from that of dongles with standard drivers.

Important information

If a dongle is switched into HID mode, a decrease in speed may be experienced when large blocks of data are being processed.

In order to switch a dongle into HID mode, you need to:

  1. Load the dumpfrom the list of dumps (or create a new mask file) and execute the Dongle | Switch HID mode on menu command.
  2. Write a mask into the dongle: execute the Dongle | Write into donglecommand. This will place a check in the respective checkbox, and the [HID] button on the toolbar will be represented as depressed.
  3. Reconnect the dongle and test its operation in HID mode.

In order to return the dongle from HID mode into driver mode, repeat the steps described above. Reconnect the dongle and test its operation in driver mode.
