Access code is a unique identifier that belongs to the developer using Guardant technologies. The access code is generated upon the first purchase of any Guardant product. When purchasing a hardware key, the access code is written into the device before passing it to the developer. The key with the access code can only be obtained by an individual (for himself) or an official representative of a legal entity (for a company).
Access code types of and their purpose
Type name | Purpose |
---|---|
Public | Prevents conflicts between software from different developers on the same computer. Used for key or license searching. Diagnostic utilities display a set of characters (e.g. DEMONVK), but it is necessary to use a hex value (e.g. 519175B7h) when embedding the API into software. |
Read | Provides security for basic operations with the key and license. Used when reading data from the key or license memory and executing algorithms (for example, encryption and signing of data). |
Write | Provides protection of the key or license memory from being overwritten. Used when writing data to the key or license memory. |
Master | Provides protection for key or license algorithms from being overwritten. Used when performing special operations. |
