To start the licensing process in Guardant Station, it is necessary to create a product that will be distributed to end users. If the vendor sells the same solution with a different set of functions or solutions with different purposes, then for convenience, they can create several products. To create a product follow the steps below:
- Select the Products menu item.
- Click Add product
- In the Product name field, enter a new product name (it does not have to be unique, as it serves only for the convenience of the vendor).
- In the Product number field, enter the product number (it is used when Guardant API is embedded into the protected application and serves as unique product identifier in other Guardant systems).
- In the CRM ID field, specify the product ID to link it to a similar object in CRM.
- In the Product description field, enter a short product description (it is also set for the vendor's convenience).
- In the Protection way section, set the switch next to the required license protection method.
In the Software license settings section, set the switches to the required positions if the Software license protection way is selected.
- Enable the switch for Allow rehost if it is necessary to provide the customer with a possibility to transfer the activated software license from one computer to another
- Enable the switch for Allow generate trial licenses if it is necessary to provide the customer with a possibility to create orders for trial licenses with this product.
- If it is necessary to select a binding scheme, follow the steps below.
If it is necessary to add a feature.
This procedure is mandatory.
At least one feature must be added, otherwise the product creation procedure will not be completed.
- Select feature settings.
- Click Create product. This will create a new product in the system with the Draft status. Such product can be edited.
- After this, it is possible to add other features and memory items to the product or proceed directly to the protection procedure (linking files, functions and data to the license).
