The memory item is part of the key's dynamic memory.

Dynamic memory is a secure storage of information.

The key memory can store:

  • customer data;
  • service identifiers;
  • encryption keys;
  • logins and passwords;
  • additional license data (which are not related to the main functions of Guardant Station);
  • and more.

The dynamic memory of the key is divided into items. Each memory item has its own ID. If the key memory is not divided into items, then it is not dynamic and can only store license information (products and features). The larger the license information section in the key memory, the smaller the dynamic memory section and vice versa.

Memory item creation algorithm

A memory item is created separately from other objects in Guardant Station.

For memory item creation, the vendor performs the following actions:

  1. Create and configure one or more memory items.
  2. Add one or more memory items into a product.
  3. Add a product to an order.
  4. Confirm the order. After that, the license in the form of a hardware or software key is shipped to the end user.
  5. Update the memory item in one of the two ways:
    Method 1
    - Create a new memory item.
    - Create a new product and add this item in it.
    - Create an update order and add the created product to it.
    Method 2
    - Create an update order and add the already created product and memory item to it.
    - If edition is allowed, edit the memory item on the order page.
